Lips

As a necessary precaution, we require ALL of our Aquarelle Lip clients to take an anti-viral medication for a total of 5 days (2 days prior to procedure, 1 day-of, and 2 days post-procedure). Valtrex and L-Lysine are the recommended combination for the best healing in case you are affected by the herpes virus. This rule holds true for each and every time you have any lip tattoo. You will need to contact your physician in order to obtain your prescription strength anti-viral medication. You must inform them of your decision to have permanent cosmetics applied to your lips and they will need to call your prescription in for you to pick up at your pharmacy.

  • Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)

  • Start moisturizing your lips at least 3 days before the appointment

  • Do not come in with active/healing Cold sores or injured lips

DARKER PIGMENTED LIPS

Like skin tone, lip color can vary from person to person. No shade of skin on the lips is healthier however some have a higher risk of causing hyperpigmentation, or hypopigmentation. I do not offer lip blush for lips that are in the brown shades mostly due to the higher risk of hyperpigmentation, and because I am not trained in working with Fitzpatrick 5-6 for lip blushing. If you are uncertain, please email me a photo of your natural lip color with outside lighting.
